MAKING RINGHOLDERS
I prefer the feel of soft foam and velvet in ringholders.
This is the method I use.
| Begin by cutting 1" foam into strips. A sabre saw with a knife
blade works well for this. |
|
| Strips about 5/8" wide work well, but the exact width must be so that
the finished ringholder will fit snugly. Allow about 1/16" gap for
each piece of foam. Cut the pieces to fit loosely lengthwise. |
|
| Cut a piece of velvet slightly larger than needed. Spray the
back side with a light coat of adhesive spray. |
|
Start with the 1" side of the foam and somewhat tightly roll it so that
three sides adhere.
Butt the next piece of foam to this piece and continue the process.
Trim the sides to the bottom of the foam and trim the ends to the top of
the foam.
|
Put the ringholder in place.
